Blue Cottages Guest House and B&B offers stylish affortable accommodation in a charming country farmhouse and garden cottages in a lush tropical garden at the gateway to the Valley of the Olifants. We are 1-hour from the Kruger National Park, Orpen or Phalaborwa gates and a stepping stone away from the scenic Blyde River Canyon and the majestic Drakensberg view points.

The "Rixile Canyon to Kruger" and "Rixile Culture to Kruger" routes form also part of this adventure....."Rixile" meaning "rising of the sun" and fits well with the area this route encapsulates.

The guest house comprises the original farm house built in 1948 on the pioneering Olifants River Esate. The lampposts planted in the garden was standing in Londen during the last world war. There are numerous styled accommodation options available to choose from.

The Weavers Nest Family Suite sleeps 5 is the original farm managers cottage built in 1948 on the pioneering Olifants River Estate. It houses a superb collection of Africana and memorabilia belonging to the owners of Monsoon - steeped in the history of the lowveld. This is the African bush savannah, bordering big game country. This beautiful farm cottage has a stylish family suite with air-conditioning and bathroom en-suite. Home-cooked three-course dinners are served by lamp light on the farmhouse veranda overlooking the lush tropical gardens.

The Blue Crane Suite sleeps four people plus two on divan bed if requested. (Only one party booked). These delightful cottages are situated in a splendid four-acre tropical garden near to the main homestead. This cluster of cottages has a separate lounge, barbeque patio, and fully equipped kitchen for six (can self cater). Two thatched rondavels with overhead fans, one double, two single beds. Private bathroom, bath, toilet, handbasin and open-air bush shower. Delicious three-course dinner and breakfast are served on the guesthouse veranda.

Blue Crane Cottage 1 - sleeps 2 in a bedroom with double bed, fully equipped kitchen, lounge with TV, private patio, braai-facilities, bathroom/toilet in another cottage in the garden, bushveld shower, ceiling-fans.
