Hoedspruit, Valley of the Olifants, Limpopo

Nestled between the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, Blyde River Canyon Lodge offers local and international travelers a unique bush experience whilst soaking up the beauty of the natural surrounds. It is also a "home away from home"  for many astute and professional businessmen/women from around South Africa who make our lodge their regular place to stay whilst doing business in the area.

Our lodge is situated along the majestic Panoramic Route of Mpumalanga/Limpopo Province, just a 40-minute drive to the Kruger National Park Orpen Gate on an 85 hectare botanical reserve and boasts a wealth of fauna and flora. Our stylish en-suite rooms and one luxury cottage all lead onto lush tranquil gardens and include satellite television, air conditioning and tea trays.

Accommodation comprises five (5) double/twin rooms and one (1) Honeymoon Suite. All rooms are tastefully furnished, have en-suite bathrooms, and are fully air-conditioned and equipped with satellite TV as well as tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a two bedroom two bathroom luxury cottage set aside from the main lodge which offers a lovely living area.

A full buffet breakfast is served daily on the beautiful outside deck whilst watching the zebra and wildebeest wander by. Delicious lunches and dinners may be arranged and enjoyed under the African sky or by firelight on those cold winter nights in our warm and inviting dining room. Whilst visiting us you can get acquainted with our hand reared impala, Mala who loves to be stroked and scratched and be the centre of attraction.

Recreational activities included lazing at the swimming pool or taking a relaxing stroll to the Blyde River with Mala! A blend of Victorian and African decor compliments the beauty and majesty of 900 year old Jackelberry trees, whose shade cascades over the pristine lawn areas.

Directions from Johannesburg & Pretoria Take the N12 from Johannesburg and the N4 from Pretoria, past Witbank and Middelburg to Belfast. Turn onto the R540 to Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Take the R36 to Ohrigstad, Strijdom Tunnel and Abel Erasmus Pass onto the R527 to Hoedspruit and take a right onto the R531 to Orpen. Travel for about 18kms. Turn right at the Adventura Swadini sign board and travel about 7 km after which you will turn right into the Blyde River Botanical Reserve and this leads into the Blyde River Canyon Lodge.

Our 2010 rates are: Luxury Rooms- R540 pp sharing, R625 single Honeymoon Suite - R625 pp sharing June and July 2010 Luxury Rooms- R595 pp sharing, R695 single Honeymoon Suite - R695 pp sharing Children under the age of 12 pay 50% of the adult rate when sharing.
